According to a representative from his agency SB Entertainment on January 20, Yeon Jung Hoon has been appointed as the goodwill ambassador of ‘China Tourism Year 2015’ by the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA). In fact, he is the first Korean appointed to be their ambassador.
This appointment was decided after the leaders from both countries; South Korea and China came to a mutual agreement on July last year, that 2015 and 2016 will be the ‘China Tourism Year’ and ‘Korea Tourism Year’ respectively. Holding the opening ceremony for ‘China Tourism Year 2015’ and a series of its events in Korea is also part of the way to fulfill the agreement between the two countries.
Yeon Jung Hoon came to receive the ambassador appointment at a formal appointment ceremony that was held at the International Conference Hall of Korea Press Center, Taepyeongno, Jung-gu, Seoul on January 21.
“Yeon Jung Hoon was appointed as the goodwill ambassador that will help introduce and promote the tourist attraction in China to the public and he will participate in the opening ceremony of the ‘China Tourism Year 2015’ that will be held this year in Korea on January 23 and all the variety of events planned by the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) throughout the year,” said his agency representative about the actor’s appointment.
Meanwhile Fan Jiu Ling; the Seoul Bureau Chief of CNTA stated, “To further expand Korea-China tourism exchange and to let the Korean citizen know about China’s tourist attractions, Yeon Jung Hoon was chosen as the ambassador that best fit for that purpose.”
After completing the filming for the Hollywood-China-Hong Kong collaboration movie ‘Skiptrace’ which its shooting location was done in several different countries including China, Hong Kong and Macau until mid December, Yeon Jung Hoon is currently reviewing several new projects to work on next.
